OTSS Tests a Sarcastic Series!

Introduction

Welcome to the OTSS Tests a Sarcastic Series, season three of the Online Test Seasonal Series. This year, we have made some changes regarding our running of our mock AMC series. This includes improving the efficiency and communication of our team members, better organizing our problems, and allocating more time to design the contests. We hope you enjoy this final (until further notice) edition of the Online Test Seasonal Series!

Information

Important Updates:
  • A special thanks goes to i3435, Mindstormer, pieater314159, and TLP.39 for making valuable contributions to our tests!
  • You can join our Discord Server here for better communication.
  • For any queries, you may either email us at otss.contactus@gmail.com or you can send an AoPS Private Message (obviously, when signed in) to Emathmaster and jeteagle mentioning your queries.
Background of the Series:

This series of contests will once again be designed for people to get more familiar and obtain extra practice with the MAA series test, i.e. AMC, AIME, and USA(J)MO. However, due to the partner DMC 10/11 series, we will not be releasing a mock AMC 10/12 (i.e. the TMC 10/12) in Season 3. Thus, we are only releasing a mock AIME and a mock USAJMO by the names of TIME and OTJMO, respectively. Please note that, unlike the MAA Tests, you do not have to qualify for a competition to take it, and you do not have to be under a certain age to take any of the tests.

Schedule:
Contest Release Date Due Date
TIME Sunday, July 25, 2021 Sunday, August 15, 2021
OTJMO Sunday, August 1, 2021 Sunday, August 29, 2021

All release times are 10:00 PM ET, and all due times are 10:00 PM ET.

Submissions:
  • Submissions for the TIME and OTJMO will be via private message to AoPS users DeToasty3, Emathmaster, jeteagle, and kevinmathz, who will add other members of the committee to the private message.
  • Grading for the TIME will be automatic via our computer code; however, this does not mean we will be able to return scores immediately. Thus, in order for us to grade your submissions for the TIME, please submit your solutions in one line.
  • If you wish to leave anything blank for the TIME, please write BBB. For example, if the answers to their problems were their numbers, with problem 11 blank, this would be a valid submission:
    001 002 003 004 005 006 007 008 009 010 BBB 012 013 014 015
Aftermath:

After the window for each contest officially closes, we will create threads of the problems in the Season 3 Discussion Forum here. Anonymous feedback forms are presented here; but we will only private message you the password after you submit a test. Please do not publicly discuss the problems on the tests until we have posted at least one problem to the forum or posted the answer key.
